2024-25 Annual Statewide Financial Aid Workshop

On this #ThankfulThursday, NCCPC offers many thanks to the California Student Aid Commission (CSAC), 10,000 Degrees, and San Jose City College (SJCC) for partnering with us to carry out the November 1st Statewide Financial Aid Workshop! The purpose of the workshop was to inform both professionals and community members about financial aid issues, including updates to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and California Dream Act Application (CADAA), as well as to provide information on updates to the Cal Grant programs, Middle Class Scholarship, programs for foster youth and the California Dream Act Service Incentive Grant. With over a hundred attendees served, the event was a great success!

Workshop Contents

This workshop was held at San Jose City College, and was the only one held in Santa Clara County this year. Attendees came from East Side Union High School District, Fremont Union High School District, San Jose Unified School District, and other schools and nonprofits from across the Bay Area.

The morning session consisted of presentations from Takeo Kubo, Director of Financial Aid at San Jose City College, and Tracy Hale and Theresia Hernandez of CSAC. Lunch was provided and multiple gift raffles were held!
